Last week I published a thorough historiography of “Julius” Caesar, tracing the literary evolution of the title Caesar, the name Gaius, and the name Julius back through the ancient sources that shape their characters.
I think it may be appellations for a system of peerage.
So we'll have to rename July?
I say we rename it Sextober, the months are already so fucked up anyway. July is what we should celebrate on Christmas.
But if Julius didn't exist and Gaius did, shouldn't it be April, May, June, Gay?
